Illness and disability
Exemption from contributions in the event of prolonged incapacity for work
If employees are unable to work for an extended period as a result of illness, accident, or pregnancy, the employer reports the case to Asga so that a waiver of contributions can be reviewed after expiry of the waiting period. The contributions are then paid by Asga.

Important
- Multiple periods of incapacity for work arising from the same cause within one year are aggregated.
- Pending clarification of a possible disability, contributions are provisionally credited on the basis of the daily benefit statements. The exemption from contributions will be granted for a maximum of two years without a decision by the Swiss Federal Disability Insurance.
Procedure
- Your employer reports an incapacity for work to Asga after expiry of the waiting period (in accordance with the benefits plan).
- All related daily benefit statements are submitted by the employer.
- You will receive a power of attorney for signature from Asga. This is required for the review of the exemption from contributions.
